{The Principal Will See You Now} Statesboro, GA Newborn Family Photographer

Oh geez. I love blog posts like this. It always sounds/feels like i'm shaking my finger at one particular person or another, but I'm SO totally not. It's one of those growing pains I have to go though as a person running a "by appt only" type business. Sometimes I have to lay down the lay a little bit, so to speak, so as to make this thing run a little smoother for all involved. I have gotten several requests for the changing of session times/dates. While in a perfect world we would all be as flexible as a gymnast, alas, I am not. Wish I could be, but I can't. A super ton of planning has to be involved to get to do what I do. Anyway, lets get to the meat, shall we? Why do I feel like I'm sitting at the principals desk right now? I cringe. E-hem (clears throat):

Clients, please understand that when you schedule a date, unless there is a medical emergency or yucky weather, cancellations/date changes are very risky, especially this time of year (August to January), during my busy season. When you agree to a date, please make arrangements, just as I have to (childcare, travel arrangements etc) If you cancel a date, I may not be able to fit you in for another 6 months. That is a realistic possibility. I know that we all have jobs and families and lives, and that includes me. If you need to change a date/time etc there is a 2 week policy, otherwise a $50 cancellation fee will be imposed and you will be put on a waiting list to reserve a new date. I am very careful and thoughtful about the number of days I can take sessions per month, because as crazy as it may seem, they are a sort of "overtime" albeit my favorite kind!! Running this business (accounting, correspondence, editing, etc.) takes up the other 40 hours per week (as well as being a mom and running a household) so please take the same care when agreeing to a date--make arrangements well ahead of time.  I say this not only for my benefit, but for the benefit of my clients too we all want as smooth of sailing as possible, right?  As always, though, I do and will always allow a good bit of flexibility for my newborns because they always have a schedule all there own. But for all other sessions, this policy applies. Thanks so much for understanding guys! I know y'all are picking up what I'm droppin. :D

Now back to our regularly scheduled program. He he.

I think maybe I need a tiny bit of concealer for these circles....what do yall think?

The Page Family {Baxley, GA Family and Children's Photographer}

This family couldn't be more special to me if they were my own family! The Page's literally have been there since day 1 of my photography journey and have stuck with me all the way through 2012.  I have felt genuinely blessed to be able to capture their daughter Addison's portraits this year, and their 6 month family session was definitely my favorite thus far!

Hailey {Alma, GA Children's Photographer}

This was a dream session for me. Photography and horses? You got me right there in heaven! Little Hailey could not have been prettier or sweeter. I'll take about 1,000 more of these sessions, please. :)

Baby Mason {Savannah, GA Newbor Photographer}

What a sweetie this little guy was. Took about an hour to get him good and conked out (all the more
reason for me to get in some snuggles) but once he was asleep, I don't think a freight train could have stirred him! I hope to see a lot more of this handsome man in the future.

Tiffany {Statesboro, GA Senior Photographer}

Tiffany is a blonde sweet southern belle destined for great things after graduation from GA Southern this year. And a dead ringer for Miranda Lambert to boot! Congratulations and best of luck pretty girl!

Mr. Luke {Baxley, GA Childrens Photographer}

This little man stole my heart!! His family has the most gorgeous property to photograph on and we had so much fun riding around and trying out different spots. His mama is as sweet as can be and I can't wait to take some photos of them together soon!

Bailey {Statesboro, GA Senior Photographer}

Bailey is a spicy redhead with a sweet personality and she and I did a lot of laughing during her session. Especially when I tried (and failed) to scale a ditch! We made it over eventually into a gorgeous field and the light was just so yummy. Thank you Summer for allowing me to take your portraits! Congratulations I know you will go far!

Summer {Metter, GA Senior Photographer}

How gorgeous is this girl? And I adored her choice of outfit! That dress couldn't have glittered more if it tried. I assure you Summer is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. Congratulations Summer! Senior Class 2012!

A Chauncey Easter {Baxley, GA Family Photographer}

Here's even more of my (highly attractive) extended family! This was the first time I had ever photographed such a large number of people and these guys couldn't have made it any easier on me, or more fun. I think maybe I laughed as much as I photographed. Everyone is so full of personality and life, and I'm so blessed to call them all family. Happy Easter and I love you guys!

The Spencer Family {Baxley, GA Family Photographer}

Seriously, how lucky am I to be related to this gorgeous bunch?? They live waaay up in Gainesville, GA, so we don't get to see them nearly as much as we'd like to. But when we all do get together it's always so much fun!! I felt so blessed to be able to capture this family's fun spirit and love for each other.

The Beckworth Family {Baxley, GA Family Photographer}

Such a super sweet family to photograph. And their little girl, Ivy, with that beautiful hair!!! Such a doll baby. I hope to see much, much more of this family in the future.

Lesson Learned. {Statesboro, GA Newborn Lifestyle Family Photographer

Getting my images ready for Evy's 1st year album, and I came across this one. ♥ You'll have to forgive my sentimentality this morning, but her birthday is just around the corner and this picture is so special to me for a number of reasons. One, of course, it is of me and my precious girl, at only a few days old, taken by my husband. I can still feel how tiny she was in my arms back then. Secondly, it's because I may never have gotten to see this memory. Back in December, my hard drive crashed, and with it a ton of the first photos ever taken of Evy's life. Through the magic of data recovery, I was able to salvage the folder, and found this image. Lesson for today **back up your photographs** Please, I beg of you. I don't think I have ever felt such a sense of panic as when I thought those memories might be lost forever. Also, GET YOUR PICTURES OFF YOUR COMPUTER PEOPLE!!!! Print them, hang them, put them to use!! This is a BIG reason why a lot of photographers don't sell digital images. They end up on your *perishable* hard dives and never see the light of day. I am determined to correct this in my household. And I hope my clients, disc or not, have those memories displayed in a tangible form. I am so glad this picture made its way back to me. And at this very moment, it is on order, on its way to my wall, where it belongs.

Tonya and Asa {Baxley, GA Wedding and Engagement Photographer}

Ok. In a word, I loooooooved this session. I loved doing it, and I think I literally squealed more than once while editing this session. These guys are gorgeous to start with, and they have that relaxed, bohemian vibe that I just adore photographing. We'd previously rescheduled due to weather, and I am so glad we did because the sunset on this day was nothing short of stunning. Thanks to Tonya and Asa for such a fun afternoon!! Can't wait til the wedding!

Yates and Tricia {Baxley, GA Engagement and Wedding Photographer}

Yates is one of my most favorite members of Matt's family. He's charismatic as the day is long, has a boisterous, infectious laugh and is just plain good to the core. Matt and I had been praying for quite some time that he'd find a good girl to keep him company. During his travels driving his big rig, he met Tricia, and when he brought her to meet us for the first time I had an inkling right then and there that she was the One. She is the perfect sweet yet strong balance for Yates and they are hopelessly, truly in love.  It definitely shines through their photos and I am eagerly awaiting photographing their wedding in June!! If the ceremony is half as romantic as their engagement session, I'll surely need to have a box of kleenex handy!

Ava Grace {Savannah, GA Newborn Photographer}

I have known Kim for a few years now, and was tickled to to death when I heard she was expecting, even more excited when she asked me to do her daughter's newborn photography! We broke this session up in to two pieces (lifestyle photography and traditional newborn photography) So I was lucky enough to get to visit this sweet girl twice! I thoroughly enjoyed both visits. Ava sure is one  loved little girl.
