L+D {Savannah, GA Engagement Photographer}

Now, anyone who has been a client of mine so far knows that "on location" photography can mean in your home, or out in the middle of some field out in God's country. And we may have to walk there. I think I may have pushed that envelope with  Lauren and Daniel. I literally took them on a two mile hike (both ways) to get some of these shots, and then drove them out to an abandoned house for the last remaining few---in the rain. To say they were patient, trusting and total sweethearts about it all is to say the very least about this lovely couple. There smiling faces is just as much a testiment to that as the love so evident between them. I was so happy to find out that these two are looking to settle near Baxley, GA (where my husbands family lives and a place we frequent often) . I can't wait to have bar-b-que's, watch football games...and maybe take portraits of future children?? Ok, ok I threw that last one in there. But really, I am looking forward to spending more time with these two. They are laid back and easy to laugh with and really a joy to be around. To Lauren--Congratulations my sweet friend. I am so happy for the love you have found and I  truly wish you both every happiness in life, you are such a beautiful person both inside and out. To Daniel--if the house you guys find doesn't have an "upstairs deer stand" like the one Matt hunts out of, you are more than welcome to use ours any time. ;)

Baby Addison {Baxley, GA Newborn Photographer}

I remember when Evy was born, a friend told us when he walked into the hospital room to come visit that, "the room was so full of joy.." that he could physically feel it. At the time I thought it was such a wonderful thing to say. Probably the nicest thing said to us about that day in our lives. Now, after visiting the Page family after their new daughter Addison's birth, I can truthfully say I have experienced it myself--so much love, so much promise and hope in the air when a  child arrives. And yes, joy. There is absolutely no more joyous an occasion than when a baby is born. Every time someone asks me to photograph their newborn, I get a little lump in my throat because I feel so privileged just to be a part of the little one's first days in the world. It truly is such a special time.      I really had a great time with Micheal, Jackie, Jacob and little 'Addi' as they call her. Newborn shoots are longer than most portrait sessions, because as any parent knows, babies have their own schedule. I don't mind this one bit. In fact I love newborn shoots for this very reason. There is no hurried pace, everything is centered around the baby and everybody is just so aglow. Speaking of which, I have never seen a more beautiful postpartum mother than Jackie.  She is skinny and glowing and beautiful. Completely unfair, but its obvious that's where Addi gets her looks. I mean truly. A gorgeous baby. See for yourself.....

The Taylors {Statesboro Children's Photographer}

Hello there!! Welcome to my new blog devoted solely to Sixpence Photography! So far, I've had such a great response that I've decided to give this a real go and give Sixpence the blog it deserves. I'll be keeping the Awkward Apron open, mainly to chronicle my adventures in mother/housewifery. Anyway, without further ado I'd like to introduce my first bog-abouts: The Taylors. Alexis is my hair stylist. I refer to her as my hair guru. Literally, I could write on and on about how long it has taken me to be able to sit down in a stylist chair and just say, "whatever you think!"  But we'll leave the past mishaps with home color and (eek!) scissors to the Awkward Apron. Cut to present- not only is she pretty much my hair soulsister, she is also my friend. We used to always tease each other about getting pregnant. Every time I would walk in we'd ask each other if we were and for about two years it was always a resounding "NO!!" And then that little stinker had to go and beat me to it. (4months later I was in the same boat) Which brings me to Norah. Seriously this kid is cute. Like stare at her all day cute. The cheeks, and those eyes!! She reminds me of a precious moments (remember those?) drawing. And just so sweet. Anyhoo, I was beyond excited to photograph them mainly because this family is so darn attractive(and stylish!!!), an secondly just because I like em a whole, whole lot. I know you will too!
